Other People's money.
Imagine this.A boy had a survey conducted to find out if he was acceptable to a girl. The result was disappointing. It was a downright rejection. Yet the boy is persistent.He courts the girl; persistently showing his best and even prevents others from revealing his dark side, if any. If ever the girl decides to accept his courting; there is still a period wherein they will get to know each other more to determine if they will elevate their relationship. In all of that; there is the assumption that the boy will be using his own money in courting the girl.
Imagine now Charter Change.
A survey was conducted a year ago to see if the citizenry was amenable to revising the Charter. Though it revealed that a large number of people don’t know what the Constitution is; the results were still devastatingly unfavorable to amending or revising it. Still, the proponents of ChaCha proceeded to court the people. They hold so called “discussions” wherein they continuously state the benefits of their proposed amendments and in certain instances prevent any dissenting opinion from being heard.The problem with Charter Change is that unlike with the boy and the girl; this relationship goes directly to the wedding. Only after the marriage will the New Constitution show its blemishes if any as what its proponents’ wishes. At which time we will already be shackled under a Charter designed by politicians that the chance of even a legal separation would be remote.And as if to add insult to injury; the proponents of ChaCha aren’t even utilizing their own money in courting the people.
They are spending the people’s own money! The taxes that the people pay are the same ones these persons are using to advance their interest!
You can stop imagining now because that is our reality!

The Cha-Cha should have been drafted buy the people who has no interest whatsoever it's provisions or in the elective power. You may have seen some of my comments (one under you in B&W site), and the reason why, I stated the above, because I was here, when we enacted our very own Charter. The Group of people who actually drafted that charter will remain anonymous, although it was under the Tenure of PM Trudeau and the Process involved a lot of debate, arguments, and as a last resort a compromise, otherwise we will be forever under the constitution not of our making. But following up the events, it seems that everyone more incline to defend the individual interest, instead of drafting a historic framework that may lead the country into a real progressive Democracy. We are both young countries and both founded on the principles of Democracy and recognize the Supremacy of God and the rule of law and I hope and wish that your Politicians will realize these sooner, before it's too late for everyone.. thanks..
sometimes MLQ site is doing that. I also had troubles accessing his site once in while. Try some other links or email mlq. I'm new to p.c. and don't much about it either. But i don't think he bans anyone form posting comment unless it's entirely disprespectful.
